Updating software is important for a variety of reason – bug fixes, security updates, additional features, etc. Some updates are automatic while others need to be initiated by the user. For the Zoom client on desktops, it appears that you need to prompt the updates yourself.

Note: If you use the Zoom mobile app on a smartphone or tablet, the app tends to automatically update itself as needed.
