If your course uses Qwickly Attendance with QR code check-in, you’ll need to make sure you’re using the latest version of the Qwickly Student Attendance App.

Qwickly has released an app update that improves QR code scanning and resolves issues caused by using external QR scanner apps.

Who This Applies To

This update only applies to students enrolled in courses that use Qwickly Attendance.

If your course does not use Qwickly, no action is required.

What Students Need To Do

Students must update the Qwickly Student Attendance App to version 6.2 by February 4.

After this date:

  • Older versions of the app will no longer support QR code scanning
  • QR codes must be scanned directly using the device’s camera to open Qwickly

Qwickly will also begin sending in-app notifications starting January 28 to students who need to update.

How to Update the App

Students can update the app directly from their device’s app store:

  • iPhone (iOS): Open the App Store, search for Qwickly Attendance, and tap Update
  • Android: Open the Google Play Store, search for Qwickly Attendance, and tap Update

Most devices with automatic updates enabled may already be up to date.

For Faculty

  • No changes are required to your course setup
  • QR code attendance will continue to work as expected once students update
  • You may wish to remind students to update the app before February 4
